LMRC is a 501(c)(3) Qualified Public Charity, incorporated as a Kansas non-profit charitable organization. Thus, donations to LRMC may be tax deductible. LMRC uses donations to:
- Pay monthly and annual costs associated with leasing the Baldwin Santa Fe Depot
- Provide for maintenance of our HO and N scale layouts.
- Defray costs associated with maintaining the HO display layout at the Ottawa Museum.
- Cover costs that are associated with club activities such as open houses and educational seminars for the public.
- Fund initial expenses associated with our Spring train show and possibly expanding with a second show in the Fall in conjunction with the Maple Lead Festival.
- Creating additional non-membership programs such as “Friends of LMRC” with different levels of support.
- Building reserves for construction of improved HO and N scale layouts.
- Establish reserves for unexpected expenses that may arise.
